Welcome to the ACS Alumni & Friends Site!

ACS Alumni Page

Dear Alumni, Staff, Parents and Friends of ACS!

At ACS, we pride ourselves on our esteemed alumni and on the entire ACS community wherever they may reside.

These pages will keep you informed of the happenings related to ACS and keep you in touch with former classmates and friends. Our online ACS Database of Alumni & Friends will help you contact fellow ACS alumni, staff, parents, and friends providing a great way to retrieve lost contacts to get in touch once again.

We have also developed an ACS Online Community where you can share information about yourself, plan events, and easily keep in touch. We at ACS would like to follow your success -- what has become of you, what experiences you have lived through, and what you are doing now.

We would be grateful if you would forward these links to any ex-classmates or ACS friends.

Alumni News Current work with New Orleans Non-Proft

Green Light New Orleans receives help from ACS Alumni
Hedda Asmussen, a Loyola University junior and American Cooperative School graduate, is currently building a media kit for Green Light New Orleans. Asmussen, a public relations junior and graduate of the American Cooperative School in La Paz, is currently working with GLNO in a service learning class offered by the School of Mass Communication. Asmussen was surrounded by nonprofit work from a very young age as her mother was a full time volunteer. In high school she was required to complete 50 hours of community service per semester and has continued her service in college. “ I have always had a passion for community service and am therefore excited for the opportunity to work with a nonprofit” says Asmussen.  GLNO is an organization that  installs free energy-efficient light bulbs in the homes of New Orleans residents. The nonprofit helps residents reduce their carbon footprints while simultaneously reducing teaching them how this could reduce their energy bills. GLNO hopes that the public relations materials being created for them will help expand their audience and spread awareness about their services.  “I have chosen to construct my media kit to address sororities and fraternities because community service is a big part of their activities,” says Asmussen. One of the main ideas that

GLNO wants to get across is that they install more than light bulbs. They also educate people on how to take care of the environment and the methods that GLNO can help with this process. For further information, contact GLNO founder, Andreas Hoffman at andreashoffman@greenlightneworleans.org Green Light New Orleans focuses primarily on helping New Orleans residents understand how a small item such as lightbulbs can cause a great change in the environments future.
