Dear Alumni, Staff, Parents and Friends of ACS!
At ACS, we pride ourselves on our esteemed alumni and on the entire ACS community wherever they may reside.
These pages will keep you informed of the happenings related to ACS and keep you in touch with former classmates and friends. Our online ACS Database of Alumni & Friends will help you contact fellow ACS alumni, staff, parents, and friends providing a great way to retrieve lost contacts to get in touch once again.
We have also developed an ACS Online Community where you can share information about yourself, plan events, and easily keep in touch. We at ACS would like to follow your success -- what has become of you, what experiences you have lived through, and what you are doing now.

ALUMNI LETTER
Dear ACS Alumni,
Greetings from your Calacoto Campus! I wanted to share with you all that we have had an excellent opening this year, with 327 students from 16 countries currently enrolled.
You will be delighted to hear, I am sure, that our aggregate Advanced Placement (AP) score in 2008/09 was 3.89/5, with the US average being 2.89; as well, that the SAT score of our 2009 Graduating Class was a full 122 points higher than the US average. Our Graduating Class of 2009 was last year offered a total of US$ 2,500,000 in scholarships by various universities from which they then chose. Our standards are certainly high – and together let’s make them even higher!
I also wanted to let you know that the school is starting, and continues to work on, several social responsibility programs including scholarships, and the support of various charities that the school is involved with, such as ProSorata. If you wish, you can help us to help, and provide the school with a gift that could be designated to support these initiatives, or other various projects that our school has revolving around either a particular Department within the school, or a certain area such as night lighting for the soccer field, and building a new wooden floor stage in our theater.
As you already might be aware of, in the Middle and High School we present academic certificates to our students based on their GPA, in the form of the Honor Roll, High Honors and Cougar Honors. In that spirit of recognition, I would like to introduce to you levels of giving where ACS would recognize donations to the school on a Giving Board of Honor:

• HIGH HONORS: US$ 500 – 999
• COUGAR HONORS: US$ 1,000 OR MORE

LETTER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Dear Alumni of ACS:
What a
pleasure it is for me to have recently joined our school. A thousand thanks to
you all for everything you have done to make ACS the wonderfully warm, inviting
and thriving school it is!
My
congratulations to Ms. Viviana Careaga and Ms. Andrea Niño de Guzman for their
commitment and hard work in creating our first Alumni Association. Please look
up on Facebook “ACS Alumni Network”. For those without Facebook, please contact,
the President of our Alumni Association, Ms. Viviana Carega at vivicarega@gmail.com. I hope alumni
currently living in La Paz will be able to join in the festivities planned by
Viviana and Andrea for the Family Fun Day on October 5, 2008. Bravo ladies and
keep up the good work!

ACS News:
Letter from the Superintendent
ACS has been around since 1955, and for over 50 years graduates have gone on to successful careers in Bolivia, the United States, and elsewhere. But wherever you live now or whatever you have done with your life, you will always have one thing in common with all those other graduates: you are all alumni of ACS.
Alumni have contributed much to the school over the years. We are proud of the fact that so many alumni have chosen to send their children to ACS, and we now offer a better tuition rate for alumni parents. Many graduates have returned to teach at ACS, including several current members of our staff. We have also had alumni serve on the school board, participate on our PTA, work on committees, and contribute to the school in many other ways.
We consider our alumni to be valuable members of the ACS community, and we welcome you to stay connected with the school. Whether you donate your time and energy or contribute financially, your support is appreciated. All of us who have had the opportunity to attend classes or work at ACS know that it is truly a special place. Alumni will always be part of our Cougar Spirit.
